PHYS 404/504 NanophotonicsCredits: (3-0) 3
Introductory quantum mechanics and electricity and magnetism. Ability to solve ordinary differential equations and linear systems. The course deals with optical phenomena in materials and structures with subwave-length dimensions. Topics will include the quantum theory of light, laser theory, beam propagation, and the unique properties of nanophotonic structures.
Notes: This course is cross-listed with BME 504 , EE 404/504 , and NANO 504 . Students enrolled in PHYS 504 will be held to a higher standard than those enrolled in PHYS 404.
