BME 203 Biomedical Statics

The study of the effects of external forces acting on stationary rigid bodies in equilibrium. Vector algebra is used to study two- and three-dimensional systems of forces in a biomedical context. Simply supported structures, cable-pulley traction devices, built-in structures, friction, centroids, and applications of statics in the analysis of articulating joints of the human body are discussed.

Prerequisites: MATH 123
