BME 722 Nano-Biomaterials

Advanced course covering the processing, characterization, modeling, and biomedical applications of nanostructured metals, natural/synthetic polymers, composites, macromolecules and surfaces. The biomedical applications will cover medical diagnosis, bioimaging, tissue engineering, and drug delivery. The emphases will be placed on biofunctionalizations of nanostructured particles and surfaces, interactions of nanomaterials with biological systems (at the levels of biomolecules, cells, tissues, organs and organisms), and toxicity of nanomaterials.
