Mining 360 Certificate

This graduate-level certificate provides mining industry professionals with, (i) a broad exposure to different mining environments, commodities, and new technology, (ii) a deep understanding of mineral economics, and (iii) an appreciation of mine management and engineering. This certificate consists of three required core courses. Students much have completed a bachelor’s degree to enroll in the Mining 360 certificate program.

Core requirements: 9 credits
Research or project requirements: 0 credits
Elective requirements: 0 credits
Total credits: 9

Research or project requirements


No research or project credits are required for this certificate. Individual courses may require projects as part of the course.

Elective requirements


No electives are required for this certificate.

Examinations


No final degree examination is required for the certificate. Individual courses may hold final examinations as part of the course.

Additional requirements


All 9 credits of the certificate must be taken from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

A grade of “C” or higher must be earned in every course in order to receive the certificate.

In addition to these degree-specific requirements, the student must also meet the requirements and policies applied to all graduate degrees  by the Council of Graduate Education.
