The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology offers a minor in avionics. 

The aerospace industry is booming in the USA, and the need for engineers with a background in avionics is strong.  This minor prepares and increases the competitive edge of students seeking employment in the avionics area of aerospace industry.  A minor in avionics is therefore an asset to all science and engineering majors at SDSMT.  It requires completion of eighteen (18) credit hours* of instruction and must be approved by the student’s major department along with the approval of the Department Head for Electrical Engineering.

*Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher for a course to be counted toward the requirements of the minor.
