EE 457/457L/557/557L Avionics I - Avionics Systems

Students will become familiar with avionics systems found in business aviation, general aviation and air transport category aircraft. These systems include navigation, communication, flight management, flight control, air data sensors, engine control and cockpit systems. Although the course will focus on commercial flight systems, weapons systems for military aircraft, thermal management in space flight and autonomous flight for drones will be briefly covered. The lab portion of the course will include a research project and several flight simulator exercises.

Prerequisites: Senior standing
Corequisites: EE 457L/557L
Notes: Students enrolled in 557/557L will be held to a higher standard than those enrolled in 457/457/L
