CENG 463 Capstone Design I

In this course, student teams focus on the engineering design process to produce solutions that meet needs and specifications within constraints.  The design process will incorporate problem and stakeholder discovery; requirements gathering and analysis; developing specifications using engineering standards; system design, modeling, and architecture with reliability and alternative analysis; integrating levels of testing and verification; and deploying a high-quality, reliable solution.  The project team will use industry-supported project management and control techniques. Legal, regulatory, and ethical concerns are emphasized throughout the design and execution of the project, with consideration for public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.  An advisor’s degree audit will be required for continued registration in the course.

Prerequisites: EE 451  or CSC 340
