CSC 715 Data Visualization

This courseintroduces the concepts, tools, and techniques for the presentation and visual analysis of data based on principles from graphic design and cognitive science to enhance the understanding of large complex data sets. We will focus on aspects of visualization related to tabular high-dimensional data, graphs, text,and other formats. The course begins with background skills, then presents an overview of principles from perception and design, visualization concepts, and then will discuss current visualization methods and software. Students will acquire hands-on experience designing and implementinginteractive visualizations using cutting edge visualizationlibraries.
