GEOL 341/341L Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology/Lab

Identification and classification of igneous and metamorphic rocks in hand sample and thin section. Emphasis is on environments of formation as deduced from textures and structures. Lecture, laboratory, and field trips.

Prerequisites: GEOL 212/212L
Corequisites: GEOL 341L
Notes: Students pursuing a BS in Geology must earn a grade of “C” or higher in GEOL 212/212L to meet prerequisite requirements for this course. A grade of “C” or higher in this course is required for graduation with a Geology, BS.
