BME 486/586 Immuno-Engineering

Credits: 2 to 3

This course is taught in 3 parts. Part I is required and provides adequate and relevant background in components and functions of the immune system. Part II covers current topics in the field of immuno-engineering including nanotechnology, vaccine development and cancer therapy. Part III focuses on understanding of fluid transport in cells, tissues and organs, and advanced modeling applications associated with transport of agents via blood and lymph to immune system.

Prerequisites: BIOL 151 , (CBE 218  or BME 304  or CBE 318  or BME 305 ).
Notes: This course is cross listed with CBE 486/586 . Students enrolled in BME 586 will be held to a higher standard than those enrolled in BME 486.
