The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology offers a minor in electrical engineering which is open to all non-EE majors. This minor serves to equip students with advanced knowledge in electrical design as associated with energy production, transmission, and storage. A minor in electrical engineering is therefore an asset to all science and engineering majors at SDSMT interested in working in energy or renewable energy fields. It requires completion of eighteen (18) credit hours of instruction. A minor in electrical engineering must be approved by the student’s major department along with the approval of the Department Head for Electrical Engineering.
